Capital Brewery Celebrates Starkbierfest Saturday, March 14, 2015
Thursday, March 12, 2015
    Q) Where can you find one-of-a-kind beers from over a dozen different craft breweries?

    A) At the second annual Starkbierfest, held at the Capital BreweryBier Garden in Middleton, Wisconsin!

Starkbiefest 2015 will feature fun, food, live music, and beer from thirteen different craft breweries. Music will be provided by The Red Hot Horn Dawgs. The event will be held outside in the Capital Brewery Beer Garden, so please dress accordingly (weather should be great this year!). Visit www.capitalbrewery.com for details.

During the Lenten season European Monks traditionally fasted and refrained from eating solid food. Hundreds of years ago Brother Barnabas and the Paulaner Monks (a great name for a band!) reasoned that while eating was forbidden, drinking was not. He brewed a batch of strong beer with a very high initial gravity. Legend has it that drinking one liter of this ‘starkbeer’ was the equivalent of eating 2 loaves of bread. This brew was quite popular with the brothers and we wager you will like it too.

Only 500 tickets are available on-line for this event and they are available online at:

    www.capitalbrewery.com/Events/Starkbierfest.aspx

Tickets are $25each and include a tasting glass and unlimited samplings from the following craft breweries:

Vintage Brewing Co., One Barrel Brewing Co., Mobcraft Beer, Next Door Brewing Co., House of Brews, Sweet Mullets Brewing Co., Lakefront Brewery, Inc., Potosi Brewing Co., Hydro Street, Brewing Co., Sprecher Brewing Co., Grumpy Troll , O’so and of course Capital Brewery Co., Inc.

Tickets will also be available at the gate on the day of the event for $30. Out of town guests are encouraged to stay at one of our fine local hotels including Country Inn & Suites, Staybridge Suites, Marriott, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, and the Hilton Garden Inn.

Founded on March 14, 1984, Capital brewed its first batch of beer in the spring of 1986. The company has received over 200 major awards in both domestic and international competitions in over 15 categories, and Wisconsin Amber has been available in cans since 1997. Capital was named Grand National Champion in the 2013 US Open Beer Championship, winning six medals.
