Music from Cobi, Eliot Sumner, Natty Nation and Mascot Theory. We will be starting the day off at 12 noon with Capital Brewery beer and food from Nitty Gritty, Papa Murphy's, and Bob's BBQ Emporium. At 1:00pm the music kicks off with Mascot Theory! These guys take after bands like Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and Dawes with a clean Americana vibe. Adding to their eclectic sound, they just release a new Nashville-recorded album, Hand Me Down Miracles and the follow up EP, Esperanto. Then stick around for the second act of the evening, Natty Nation. A collective of musicians from Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago & Minneapolis lead by JAH Boogie & musical director, Aaron Konkol. The independent, all original, touring and recording outfit is one of the original forces in USA based reggae. Later in the evening we have Eliot Sumner and Cobi, two rising stars in the music biz. Eliot Sumner, the child of Sting and Actress/Producer Trudie Styler, is a very talented young musician. Growing up with these two parents, you would expect good, if not great. But Sumner exceeded expectations with their debut solo album, Information. This album features a serene mix of Pop, Punk and Electronica. To close out the Block Party, we have our headliner, Cobi. The young solo artist (formerly of Gentlemen Hall) is a smooth as butter vocalist that could be compared to Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Cobi focuses on the pop genre with a R&B Hybrid twist that sets him apart melodically and lyrically. His debut single, “Don’t You Cry For Me” has blasted him into the national spotlight. This may be your last chance to see him before he’s selling out stadiums across the world.
